WEST GOES EAST AND THE TWAIN WILL MEETEU Literature Festival, 7 November 2004In cooperation with art-space/live-house Superdeluxe, the Embassies of EU-member states and the EU delegation in Japan, the Dutch EU presidency is planning to organize an EU literature festival.It will be an evening where East and West will meet, with several writers from Europe reading their works in their own language. The works will be introduced and read in Japanese by several well-known Japanese writers, like Kazuko Shiraishi, Masahiko Shimada and Hikaru Okuizumi.The European Literature Festival will provide a fascinating and lively introduction to modern European Literature, with live music, food, drinks and performances by the various writers and poets.Participants (planned):Japan:Masahiko ShimadaKazuko ShiraishiMidori IsomuraHikaru OkuizumiEurope:Tim Krabbe (The Netherlands)Gregor Hens (Germany)
