イギリス人キーボード奏者モーガン・フィッシャーは2003年から「モーガンのオルガン」と題して西麻布スーパーデラックスで毎月ソロライブを行ってきました。その40回目となる6月21日のライブはスペシャルな内容となります。2008年にモーガンのキャリアは40年に到達します。その記念として少し早いセレブレーションとすることにしました。

その長いキャリアでレコーディングしてきた作品の中からモーガンが大好きな歌を歌います。その中には、モーガンのキャリアでの初レコーディング–The Soul Survivorsとともにデモとしてレコーディングした曲も含まれます。これはまだThe Love Affairとして1968年全英No.1ヒットとなる「Everlasting Love」をリリースする前の時期です。

そしてモーガンは、Smileのヴォーカリスト（後にQueenのオリジナルメンバーとなる）とともにプログレッシヴ・ロック・バンド「Morgan」を結成、1973年から1976年にかけてはMott the Hoople (デヴィッド・ボウイが「すべての若き野郎ども/All The Young Dudes」を提供したバンド)で活躍しました。

その後パンクの時代にはWarhol SuperstarのWayne Countyと共演。1985年に活動拠点を日本へ移して以来、モーガンはヨーコ・オノ (ジョン・レノンの「Love」をレコーディング)や喜納昌吉 (「花」の作詞・作曲者)をはじめとした数多くのアーティスト達と共演してきています。

当日はクラシック・ヒッツやジャンルを超えた素晴らしい楽曲を色褪せない思い出とともに繰り広げるユニークな夜となります。さらに、モーガンのプライベート・コレクションの中から1964年当時のビデオも上映します。スペシャルゲストはFREESCAPEのヴォーカル、Emi Evans。通常の「モーガンのオルガン」同様、事前予約いただいたお客様は無料でご入場いただけます。事前予約されずに当日直接ご来場いただいた場合、入場料は1,000円になります。ご来場の方はもれなくモーガンのソロ・レコーディング・アーカイブからセレクトされた楽曲をmp3形式で無料ダウンロードいただける特典付き。夏至にお贈りする素敵なパッケージです！

Morgan's Organ 40 X 40
British keyboardist Morgan Fisher has been playing monthly solo improvisation concerts (wittily titled “Morgan’s Organ”) at Superdeluxe, Nishi-Azabu since November 2003 - an extraordinary long run. The next in the series, on June 21st, will be the 40th, and Morgan is planning something special. As his career approaches its 40th anniversary (in 2008) he has decided to have a slightly premature celebration of the fact. So Morgan will be singing his favourite songs from those he has recorded and performed during his long, chequered life in music.

This will include the first demo he ever recorded (in 1966) with the amateur Soul Survivors, before they mutated into The Love Affair and scored a massive #1 hit in 1968 with “Everlasting Love” (covered by U2 and Jamie Cullum and brilliantly used as the grand finale in “Bridget Jones’ Diary - The Edge of Reason”). Morgan then formed a progressive rock band called, strangely enough, Morgan. The band’s lead singer was the original singer for Smile (a band who also mutated - into Queen). The next phase, 1973-76, is probably the most renowned in Morgan’s career - more classic hits with seminal rock heroes Mott the Hoople (for whom David Bowie wrote “All The Young Dudes”). Then punk exploded, and Morgan clicked right into action, playing with Warhol superstar, transvestite Wayne County (now Jayne County) - most notorious hit: "Fuck Off"

In 1985 Morgan moved to Japan where he has lived ever since. His Japanese music life has brought him into contact with the likes of Yoko Ono (with whom he recorded Lennon’s “Love”) and Okinawan star Kina Shoukichi (composer of the classic “Hana”).

So, a life packed with classic hits and endless border crossings, and a unique evening packed with vivid memories and fabulous songs. Morgan’s Very Special Guest will be the divine singer Emi Evans from Freesscape. In addition, videos from Morgan’s private collection going back as far as 1964 will be shown. And in line with all the “Morgan’s Organ” concerts, entrance is FREE if you book in advance via the Superdeluxe website, and only 1000 yen on the night - AND it includes a free download mp3 from Morgan’s archives of solo recordings.
