昨年、ICP オーケストラのメンバーとして、SuperDeluxeの歴史に残る名演を果たしたAb Baarsがヴィオラ奏者Ig HennemanとのDuoとして再び登場!! 八木美知依をゲストに迎え、優雅で美しいスリリングな音楽を届けてくれます。

「私と八木美知依さんとの出会いは、まったくの偶然から始まりました。昨年１０月渋谷クラシックスでの演奏後、会場内でBGMとして流れていた八木さんのリリースされたばかりのアルバムに私とIgは個々に強く惹かれました。八木さんの音楽は伝統音楽と現代音楽の美しい融合、冒険的なダイナミズム、、、音楽を正確に掴み、言葉で表すのは容易ではありませんが、彼女の作品の中に私が持っている感覚に非常に近いものを見つけた様な気持ちになりました。そして二ヶ月後、ICPオーケストラの公演のために再び東京へ訪れた時、幸運にも八木さんの自宅で一緒に即興演奏をする機会に恵まれ、素晴らしく刺激的な経験をしました。今回スーパー・デラックスで、八木美知依さん、Ig Henneman、そして私の初の即興演奏会が実現します。どうぞお楽しみ下さい。」(Ab Baars)

Ig and I ‘discovered’ Michiyo Yagi totally by coincidence. In October 2006 after our concert in Shibuya Classics a CD with some striking koto music was put on. We were both, individually, struck by the music: a beautiful mix of traditional and contemporary music, adventurous, with great use of dynamics. Music hard to describe and hard to catch but it felt as if we found a kindred spirit in improvised music. This music turned out to be the new CD of Michiyo Yagi, a fine Tokyo based koto player.
Only two weeks later, when I returned to Tokyo for a concert with the ICP Orchestra, I had a chance to improvise with her at her house; a stimulating experience.

This night, at the SuperDeluxe, Yagi, Ig and I will have a first musical meeting in a totally improvised set. And...... the follow up will be the project Floating Worlds in Japan 2008 and Europe 2009.
