コンテンポラリー・レヴュー・ショー「マリオン」

世界中のムーランルージュと、世界中のブロードウェイに捧げるこの企画は、ニュートレドの竹田、写真/映像作家の芦田、振付／俳優の中里の３者によって企画され、総勢１９名の演者によって織り成される劇場作品です。とはいえ演劇でもなく、ミュージカルでもなく、オペラでもなく。一番近いスタイルを敢えてあげるならば、それら劇のおまけについてくる「レヴュー」の形式が当てはまるかもしれません。昔日のキャバレーや、宝塚、ブロードウェイで繰り広げられている、現在からみれば古典的ともいえるショーを、２０１０年版にヴァージョンアップし、踊りと音楽と映像の新しい関係性を提案します。

アーティスト・プロフィール:

芦田陽介

1980年京都府生まれ。写真・映像作家。静止画と動画のあいだを横断し、時間の見方の可能性を拡張する作品を国内外で発表している。最近の個展に「Delay」（ Sundries、東京）、「TIME RESOUND X SPACE RESOUND」（Sala Metallica、Venezia）など。今回の「Marion」では、複数のプロジェクターによる映像を用いて、音楽・ダンスとともに時空間を共鳴させる。

中里順子

「黒色綺譚カナリア派」所属。東京で活動する俳優。俳優業と並行して「歌謡曲に合わせて適当に振りを付けて歌い踊る」ダンスパフォーマンスを行い、東京のクラブ等で活動。マニアックな選曲と、華やかでパワフルなステージが評価される。近年はソロ活動も増え、映像出演・イベントダンサー・モデル・ナレーション・振付・正統派メタルバンド「BLACK CRIMSON」ではボーカルもこなす。「見る者の期待を上切る」（うわぎる：上回って裏切る）を信条に、今日も演劇とパフォーマンスの狭間で自由な華を咲かせている。

ニュートレド

不定期、不定形ながら活動を続ける、竹田和也によるオーケストラプロジェクト。主に東京で活動する即興演奏家、クラシック演奏家、ジャズミュージシャンの協力を得て、4名から12名にわたる編成で活動している。クラシックやジャズに限らず、イージーリスニング、映画音楽、ＴＶ番組の劇中曲やＣＭソングなどの記憶を土台に、アレンジされた音楽の新感覚を追求している。 BLOG

Contemporary Revue Show “Marion”

Dedicated to the spirit of Moulin Rouge and Broadway around the world, this project was collectively conceived by Kazuya Takeda of the band Newtoledo, photographer/video artist Yosuke Ashida, and choreographer/actor Junko Nakazato. With a cast of 19 performers, this theatrical experience is not a play, nor is it a musical or an opera. If pressed to categorize this multifaceted artistic endeavor, it could perhaps best be likened to a “Revue,” the amalgamated popular theatrical entertainment of the early 19th century that combined music, dance and short sketches. Paying homage to the olden days of cabarets, Takarazuka Theater, and Broadway, this show highlights classical forms in a contemporary context, exploring relationships between music, dance and video with a sensibility that looks back in time to find new expressions for 2010.

Artist Profiles:

Yosuke Ashida

Born in Kyoto, 1980, Yosuke Ashida is a photographer and filmmaker. His work explores the ways in which people experience time as it alternates between still and moving pictures. He has exhibited his work both in Japan and abroad, with recent shows including “Delay” in Tokyo and “TIME RESOUND X SPACE RESOUND” in Venice. For “Marion,” Ashida aims to make his work an inseparable part of the atmosphere, collaborating with the myriad music and dance styles through the use of several video sources and projectors simultaneously.

Junko Nakazato

A member of the theater company ”Kokushoku Kitan Kanaria-ha” (Black Tale Canary Group), Junko Nakazato has extensive experience as both a theater actress as well as a dancer and choreographer. Her performance is style is both glamorous and powerful, and she prides herself on continuously exceeding the expectations of the audience.
