ジャンニ・ジェビア (サックス＆ディレクション)

イタリア人サックス奏者のジャンニ・ジェビアによって撮られた、キャバレーで活躍する音楽家やダンサー達を描いたミュージックロードムービの日本初上映会。上映後はあやちクローデルと彼女のバンドにより解釈された、ベルトルト・ブレヒトとクルト・ワイルのライブコンサートをゲストにベリーダンサーのSafiとサックスのGianni、そしてダンサーのバーバラ村田と園田郁実を交えてお贈りします。

ミュージックロードムービー

浅草のブレヒは、2010年12月にイタリアの作曲家でありサックス奏者のジャンニ・ジェビアが監督・脚本、安価なポケットHDビデオカメラで撮影されたミュージックロードムービーです。すべて東京で撮影されたこの作品は現実に存在する夢の様なキャラクターの登場ではじまる。仏教神話の弥勒菩薩からインスパイアーされた未来のお釈迦様が浅草のキャバレーに現れれ、旧大江戸が栄えた歴史的な町、浅草の夜の浅草の水先案内人となる。ドキュメンタリーとして特定の目標もなく、ほぼ無意識といっていい程シンプルに撮影されたこの作品は、この町で新たに活動を始めたアーティスト達の生きた夜の日記と言えよう。

監督について:
ジャンニ・ジェビア
イタリア、ヨーロッパ、アメリア、そして日本で活躍する、イタリアのパレルモ出身のサックス奏者兼即興音楽家。80年代よりたくさんのレーベルより自身の音源をリリースし、フレッド・フリス、ペーター・コヴァルト、ベイビー・ソマー、ルイ・スクラヴィス、カール・ストーン、ハイナー・ゲッベルス、ジム・オルークといった音楽家達と共演をしている。
他にもドキュメンタリー番組やラウル・ルイス、ロベルト・アンド、グイド・チィエサ等の著名な監督の映画のサウンドトラックも製作している。ジェビアは、演劇やコンテンポラリーダンス、そして日本の舞踏家などの舞台芸術の世界でも活躍しており、ピナ・バウシュの作品『パレルモパレルモ』は彼のはじめての映画作品です。

Japanese premiere of the musical road movie about new cabaret artists shot by the italian saxophone player Gianni Gebbia.
The movie will be followed by a live concert of Bertolt Brecht & Kurt Weill songs interpreted by Ayachi Claudel and her band featuring Safi and Gianni Gebbia plus live performances by Barbara Murata, Gianni Gebbia & Sonoda Ikumi.

a musical road movie

Asakusa no Brecht ( Brecht in Asakusa ) is a musical road movie written and filmed in December 2010 with a cheap pocket HD videocamera by the italian composer and saxophone player Gianni Gebbia. Filmed entirely in Tokyo this movie starts from a dream-like fiction character inspired by the Buddhist Myth of Maitreya (Miroku in japanese), the Buddha of the Future who appears in a cabaret in Asakusa to become a guide trough the nightlife of this legendary area where the old city od Edo was based.
Filmed simply and almost unconsciously without a specific documentary aim “ Asakusa no Brecht “ is a sort of alive night diary with some of the artists who repopulates again the nightlife of this area.

Notes about the author:
Gianni Gebbia
Born in Palermo Italy is a renowned saxophone player improvisor and composer who’s playing often in Japan as well as in Europe and Usa. Since the 80‘s he has recorded many cd’s under his name for various labels and played with artists like Fred Frith, Peter Kowald, Baby Sommer, Louis Sclavis, Carl Stone, Heiner Goebbels, Jim O'Rourke. He also composed many soundtracks for documentaries and movies by many different directors as Raul Ruiz, Roberto Andò and Guido Chiesa. Gianni Gebbia is also active in the field of music theatre performances and contemporary dance collaborating with many japanese butoh dancers and european dance theatre artists as Pina Bausch for the “Palermo Palermo “ piece. This is his first movie.
