##Tin Can Trio
![/sdlx/111213-tincantrio.jpg](/sdlx/111213-tincantrio.jpg)
This all-metal instrument trio is the brainchild of koto player Scott Jordan, who will put down the koto strings to coax some wonderful sounds out of scrap metal. He'll be joined by multi-instrumentalist Take, and the mad musical inventions of Lead Sister II, which qualify as metal–due to the nails needed to fix them–after their repeated end-of-show destruction.

##Brendan Landis (aka Hey Exit from Brookyn) + Fujiwara Daisuke
![/sdlx/111213-heyexitfujiwara.jpg](/sdlx/111213-heyexitfujiwara.jpg)
Currently touring Japan with performaces on both koto and guitar, Brooklyn-based Brendan Landis is a multifaceted musician who covers a lot of ground in his work. Performing under the name Hey Exit, his improvised guitar work moves from passages of grinding guitar repair one moment to stumbling loops of drone the next, all carefully placed amongst grand chunks of silence. As a koto player, he works in both traditional settings and as an acoustic improvisor. On this evening, he will be joined by local tenor sax whiz Daisuke Fujiwara, who has been expanding into new and wonderful realms of expression as of late. A perfect collision of sounds from which to start the holiday season.

We are really looking forward to meeting Nathan Kelly in person. After several failed attempts to get him to Test Tone in the past, he finally confirmed his flight from Perth and will be definitely by joining us with a myriad of sound surprises. Performing as Quick, Nathan careens through a swamp of guitar loops, manipulated drum programming, and pretty much anything else he can find. For this special occasion, we have corraled SOUNDROOM's very own Yasufumi Suzuki (aka AEN) to face off with Nathan for the final Test Tone of 2011. This will be a fun one.

##DJ Evil Penguin
![/sdlx/111213-evilpenguin.jpeg](/sdlx/111213-evilpenguin.jpeg)
Master of disguises, Mexican top-hats, ambient rockabilly to minimal Hawaiian Kumulipo chants, the Evil Penguin poses the primordial question of evanescence against a backdrop of New Wave folk. Celebratory, subliminal, moment-to-moment. A Tasmanian treasure with a penchant for open spaces.
##About Test Tone
A monthly experiment offering irregular art, music and performance in Tokyo.
The Test Tone series aims to offer a venue for diverse and challenging artists to bring their ideas to a larger community. As a free event open to the public, we hope to bypass the old economies in order to create new ones, while encouraging collaboration in all forms. A collage of media, sound and art in a space available to anyone off the street, the event is a bazaar of potential collisions, where passersby are treated to the unexpected.
For all of this, we found our home base at Super Deluxe, a unique space in Tokyo's midtown, providing a relaxed atmosphere within its modular interior. The event continues to be a celebration of off-kilter creativity in the city: from installation pieces to performance art and visual collaborations; from noise, electronica, ambient sounds and free rock to disorderly jazz and manipulated field recordings. To date, close to 500 artists have been a part of the event, together creating opportunities for unexpected improvisation, collaboration, and festival spirit.
