About Richard Lainhart; Richard Lainhart (February 14, 1953 - December 30, 2011) was an American composer, performer, and filmmaker. He is best known as a composer of electronic music that combines analog and digital instrumentation with extended performance techniques[1] derived from traditional acoustic instruments. LatestWork; As a synthesist, Lainhart has enjoyed a fruitful series of musical collaborations with celebrated Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess, including a DVD of duets entitled A Fistful Of Patchcords and several independent CDs. Jordan Rudess says: If it was not for Richard Lainhart I would have never been introduced to the Continuum- I would never have played the huge modular synthesizer that he designed for me with Roger Arrick and I would have never played the Lap Steel. Richard was a giving man and was one of the smartest people I've ever known. We shared a passion for sound and enjoyed wonderful electronic music improvisations which we brought to live radio, the concert hall and live streaming around the world.
