Born in 1955. He studied saxophone by self-education when in University and then started performance activities the later 70's. In 1980, he released first recording "Solo Saxophone" from Cacoon. In 80's, he played with Masahiko Togashi, Masayuki Takayanagi, Nobuyoshi Ino, Yoshisaburo Toyozumi, Akira Iijima and Yoshiaki Fujikawa, joined Fujikawa's Eastasia Orchestra, Togashi's group and Daisuke Fuwa's Shibusashirazu Orchestra, and collaborated with Otomo Yoshihide. In the early 90's, he joined Otomo's Ground Zero. Now, Hirose is mainly playing with his regular trio (w/Nobuyoshi Ino, Yasuhiro Yoshigaki), in duo with Yoshigaki, in duo with Shiro Onuma, and in quartet with Toshimaru Nakamura, Manabu Suzuki, and Katsuyoshi Kou. Hirose has released 5 leader albums. The most recent is "the elements - tenor saxophone solos" from doubtmusic. She made her debut with "UTSUHO" on John Zorn's TZADIK label in 2001 (featuring Haino Keiji as a guest musician). She began playing solo improvisation in 2002, and has collaborated with a range of musicians since 2007.
