[so]=アレックス・ソンダーレッガーと[ba]=スザンナ・ベアーによるスイス人デザインユニット。 2001年、東京、経堂にてデザインスタジオ、so+baを設立。東京在住歴10年以上。スイスと日本、まったく異なるふたつの文化への深い理解と、両国でグラフィックデザイン、広告に携わってきた経験をもつso+baにとって、クロスカルチャー・コミニュケーションはテーマでもあり得意分野でもある。主にグラフィック・デザイン、アート・ディレクション、VJを行う傍ら、多摩美術大学でタイポグラフィーの教鞭をとる。

サムソナイト・オーケストラ Samsonite Orchestra（スイス）
今回、遥かスイスの地から日本への初来日での登場となるサムソナイト・オーケストラは首謀者のジュリアン • イスラリエンが一人でステージに立つ世界一小さなオーケストラです。独特な手作りの楽器と2つのループステーションによって構成され、叩いたりこすったりする事で不思議なサウンドを聞かせてくれます。スーツケースに詰めこまれ、世界の旅行者のように旅するそのコンパクトなオーケストラは例えるならミニマルテクノのようでありながら、どこかユーモラスで詩的な音色を伴い見る者を魅了します。

ダダイズム100周年を記念して、スーパー・デラックスが期間限定でダダ発祥の地「キャバレー・ヴォルテール」に生まれ変わる。「ダダイズム」は1916年に活動拠点となったスイスのチューリヒ「キャバレー・ヴォルテール」から世界に広がったアート・ムーブメント。キャバレー・ヴォルテールでは、音楽、詩の朗読、パフォーマンス、美術作品の展示などのさまざまな催しが開催され、芸術家たちは自身の立場を画家や作家、ダンサー、音楽家と区別せず、さまざまな芸術表現を自由に用いることで、それまでにあった境界線を取り払うことを望み、新たなる価値観を生み出した。2002年、東京の地で始まったスーパー・デラックスも同じ想いを携え、現在まで数々の公演を開催。キャバレー・ヴォルテールとして開催する本プログラムは、現代を生きるアーティストたちが、音楽、アートワーク、ポエトリーリーディング、映像、ダンス、演劇などによって作り上げる刺激的な7日間となる。

From July 12 to July 18 SuperDeluxe becomes the center-piece of the Dada 100 anniversary in Japan. Art enthusiasts, the curious, and the thirsty can experience a unique space, recreating the atmosphere of the Cabaret Voltaire - birthplace of Dadaism in 1916 Zurich. Every evening, the Cabaret Voltaire at SuperDeluxe will present a variety of groundbreaking performances featuring dance, music, poetry and more.

susanna baer and alex sonderegger were born in switzerland. they started their design studio «so+ba», in tokyo in 2001. with their experiences in graphic design and advertising in switzerland and japan, as well as a good understanding of the two very different cultures, cross-cultural communication is one of the strength and the focus of so+ba. so+ba is active in the field of graphic design, art direction, sound visualization and teaching typography and design

Samsonite Orchestra (Switzerland)
This orchestra consists of only a single chap on stage, Julien Israelian, who had the idea of a pocket orchestra one day, when he bought an old suitcase in a secondhand shop. Not a Samsonite made of plastic, which we would imagine at the end of a golden boys’ arm, in too much of a hurry when in transit at the airport, but a beat up crusty suitcase filled with peculiar home-made instruments and two loop stations. The music of Samsonite Orchestra is essentially crafted with plucked strings, rubbed and struck, then looped, stacked, and assembled. Some of these sounds are very strange and sometimes poetic, the filiation with the music of Pierre Bastien is imperative but Samsonite Orchestra goes much further, creating real rhythmics, settling into repetition for some kind of minimal techno entirely designed by hand and rather evanescent, just like an old tatapoum from Wolfgang Voigt (Gas).
