Artist Information: Jakob Bro  For this performance Jakob Bro will play without a band. The Danish guitar player and composer is internationally acclaimed for creating magical music - impossible to categorize and capture - and as a musician for whom time, space and melody are related things. Jakob Bro is currently no.3 on Downbeat’s Annual Critics Poll Rising Stars list. His latest trio albums ‘Gefion’ (2015) and 'Streams (2016)' are both out on ECM Records and distributed widely in Japan. Jakob Bro is also in Japanese distribution with his own label ‘Loveland Records’. The duo first met at Musikhochschule in Zürich in 2012, where they both performed. Spontaneously they created a joint transition between their two concerts – which turned out to be the beginning of their collaboration as a duo. The two artists quickly realized a shared approach to sound, even if they come from two very different backgrounds: the classical and the improvisational. When the duo enters the stage the audience is encountered with a unique and playful mix of modern composition and intuitive improvisation that eliminates all genre definitions. Joysticks, samplers, field recordings, piano, video, self build instruments and other novelty effects are in play, creating an engaging and wholehearted experience. She has a MA from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, 2008. Nina Wengel is an artist working in many medias. Mainly though, she works with contemporary landscape painting, light installations and events. His works are mainly concerned about reflections on process and matters, through color and composititon. Lately he’s works have been formal abstaction in oil on canvas, but he is working in a broad range of medias, including video and photography. Thorbjørn Bechmann is showing at 4 different venues in Japan, this spring. [www.thorbjornbechmann.com](http://www.thorbjornbechmann.com/index.html) Inger Scharff and Merih Koç  Visual artists Inger Scharff and Merih Koç are contributing to the venue with the space-specific piece “Gate”. The duo is concerned with human’s penchant for self-editing and fear of banalities and clichés. However, what seems banal often appears more complex and nuanced when we take a closer look. The “GATE” consists of two fraternal sculptures that reflect each other. They have been formed so that they fit together. Their shapes depend on each other.They part from each other but they also belong together. Like culture to culture, people to people and artist/performer to audience/observer. Through attention and honesty in the process the artists wanted to explore how they realized their ideas. The piece has been created with a point of no return attitude that resembles musicians playing a concert. Like musicians and audience always prepare, the artist have prepared in terms of materials, dimensions, idioms and position in the room. After the preparations the piece was created in one improvisational take. The sculptures' fragmented idiom is inspired by the structure of classical busts and sporadically applied gold leafs, not to cover but to frame and emphasize the process. Placed on each side of the stage, they are creating an illusion of a gate to the experience (the picture above shows the models). Andreas Schulenburg  Andreas Schulenburg (1975) was born in Germany and was later educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. Schulenburg works with several different genres and media – amongst other ceramics, drawing, felt and sculpture.
