Conguero Tres Hoofers (CTH)
The band name Conguero Tres Hoofers derives from: “Conguero”=beating on congas, “Tres”= the origin for guitar, and “Hoofers”= slang for tap dancers. Band members consist of Yukihiro Atsumi (Gt.), who composed and produced music for NHK WORLD, SARO (Tap) who became well known through Film Director Takeshi Kitano’s “Zatoichi,” and Hidero Nishioka (Per.) who has worked with artists ranging from Magokoro Brothers to Saori Yuuki. Combining the use of instruments as well as their bodies, the band became renown for the unique physicality of their performances. To date they have performed at the GREEN ROOM FESTIVAL in 2010, and two years a row at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL in 2010 and 2011, before treleasing their first album in 2011 followed by their 2nd album in 2012. Both albums topped No. 1 in the Jazz charts of the iTunes Music Store. In June 2014, the band ventured on their first longterm European tour spanning 54 days. Each time they crossed boarders they were influenced by different cultures which would influence their constantly evolving style. They continue to pursue bold challenges on a global scale and they tour Japan and around the world.

“Loop Pedal Ninja” Kenta Hayashi is a one man show, creating an orchestra of sound by layering vocals, guitar, effects, percussion, and electronic beats. The result is a mixture of Rock / Funk / Blues / Acoustic / Psychedelic / Trance / Electronica / Dub / Jam and Jazz, with overtone harmonies on a rhythmic foundation.

Chonmaru (Live Painting)
Born in Tokyo and raised in Kanagawa, Chonmaru studied design in college and began working as a web designer upon graduation. In 2015 she began to pursue her own expressions in art and she has become know for her bold line graphics and repeating patterns that define her original style. Her work can be seen adorning the walls of various Tokyo offices and eateries, and she performs live painting at various venues across the city.

VJ Shimon
VJ / Space Designer / Film Director Collaborating with musicians and DJs, VJ Shimon chops, screws and mashes up videos and analog/digital noise patterns to create an one-of-a-kind live performances that make people experience music visually. He has performed at various events including Fuji Rock Festival / Gang Bang Night, AIR JAM 2016, etc.

This&That Cafe is a periodic event open to the public in which artists from all genres and backgrounds donate their time and talents in the spirt of sharing. It is a place where music and visual arts meld in unexpected collaborations. A forum for artists from afar to meet with local luminaries amidst the dense and eclectic pool of talent in Tokyo. A venue to gather, exchange ideas, share artistic inclinations and wax poetic in a causal community of old friends and new acquaintances.
