Majestic Circus -マジェスティック・サーカス
Majestic Circusの魅力はまさにライブに尽きる。ジャムの持つ自由かつ変幻自在なひょうげんを軸とし、
あらゆ音楽を吸収しながら自らのパフォーマンス力を高めたファンキーなプレイを得意とする
ジャム系ロックバンドだ。
2001年、高橋学、安藤恵司を中心に結成。
男性6名、女性1名による編成でジャンルに捕われない自由なスタイルで数多くのステージをこなし、
幅広い層のファンを獲得してきた。様々なタイプのミュージシャンとの共演も特徴のひとつ。
ディジュリデューのトップ・プレイヤーGoRoやヒップホップのスクラッチ・チャンピオン、
DJジョーイ・スリックとの共演も話題を呼んだ。2003年には国内最大級のロック・フェスティバル、
フジロック・フェスティバル（フィールド・オブ・ヘブン）に出演、
その卓越したテクニックで全国に存在を知られることとなった。
大半のオリジナル曲をコンポーズするギタリスト、マナブ（manabu）は2001年にグラミー賞を
受賞した世界的な音楽家、喜多朗（kitaro）のサポート・メンバーとして活動の場を世界に拡げている。
またギター＆ヴォーカル担当のケイジと共に日本のジャムバンドの元祖、
ビック・フロッグのオリジナル・メンバーであった。在籍時にはアメリカの伝説的バンド、
フィッシュ（Phish）をはじめ、モー（moe）、リトル・フィート（Little Feet）、マール・サンダース
(Merl Saunders）らの来日公演でオープニングアクトを努めている。ドラムのヒデ（hide）は
グローバルな活躍で注目を集めているグループGOCOOの重要メンバーのひとり。GOCOOは
大ヒットしたハリウッド映画マトリックス・リローデットのサウンド・トラックに日本から
唯一参加した革新的な和太鼓のグループ。キーボードのゴロー(Goro)は、
元東京スカパラダイス・オーケストラのボーカリスト、Luiをはじめ様々なアーティストの
サポートやプロデュースを手掛けている。その多彩な知識はバンドのサウンドになくてはならない色を
添えている。
こうしたメンバーの多彩な音楽性や個性が絡み合って今のMajestic Circusの音楽は成立しているのだ。
音楽シーンを大きな流れへと導くのに必要不可欠な存在となるに違いない。

Majestic Circus Profile
The best of Majestic Circus is at its live performance. MJC is a rock band with free, ever-evolving Jam band style as its core. Their funky play is elevated with diverse range of music styles synthesized in their own original groove.
Formed in 2001 by Manabu Takahashi and Keiji Ando, this 6-male 1-female band has been playing gigs attracting wide ranged fans with its free style music that goes beyond one genre of music. One of the remarkable characteristic is seen in its joint performance with musicians of various types like Dedgeridoo top player GoRo and Hip-Hop scratch champion DJ Joey Slick. Their participation in the Fuji Rock Festival, the biggest rock festival in Japan, made their outstanding performance know all through Japan.
The guitarist Manabu, who composes most of MJC tracks, plays internationally as a back line musician for Kitaro, the 2001 Grammy Award winner. The drummer Hide also tours abroad as one of the key players of GOCOO, a Taiko (Japanese Drum) band who was the sole participant in the Hollywood movie Matrix Reloaded among Japanese musicians. The guitarist and vocalist Keiji and Manabu were founding members of Japan's first Jam band Big Frog who opened shows for legendary American band Phish, Moe, Little Feet, Merl Sunders, and others. The keyboard player Goro plays and produces for various musicians including former Tokyo Skapararise vocalist, Luis. The color he brings in to MJC sound from his extended experience is indispensable to the band.
Members' wide ranged musical talents and individual characters are woven into unique tapestry of Majestic Circus. Majestic Circus is one of the movements that shows directions of music scene of Today.
