kim (vocal, bass, trumpet) & midi（drums,chorus）make up this high-impact male-female unit. Combining live sampling with live instrumentation and vocals, they use elements of rock, hiphop, jazz and dub to create a sound all their own. Their impressive track record includes performances and Fuji Rock and ARABAKI ROCK FESTIVAL, and they have recently toured nationwide on the success of their latest album “too two to.”

##Callum’s Whiskey Tales
Callum Grant is a Scottish singer song writer who, well, sings and writes songs. When he is not clinking glasses or sharing tales of joy and despair, he performs in Blue Man Group to pass the time. Fellow Blue Man Eric Gebow provides the beat for his ambient guitar and smoky vocals.

##Danny Katz
Danny Katz plays 80s-flavored folk-pop. The prodigal son of Coldplay and The Indigo Girls, Danny is currently touring to promote “Japanese Satellites,” his seventh studio album. Proficient in guitar, piano and jiuta-shamisen, Danny entertains audiences throughout the U.S. and Japan with unique covers, such as a folk version of Missy Elliot’s “Work It,” and his originals, which cover topics from the quirky to the hopelessly romantic. While he recorded a comedy album, “More Than Meets the Ear: Sections from Transformers the Musical,” in 2007, “Japanese Satellites” is his first major project since 2006’s
“Strangely Beautiful.”

##Alexander Laborde Padron
Alexander Laborde Padron is a leading Latin singer and guitarist in Japan. His musical styles vary from salsa to ballads and beyond, blending unique guitar stylings with a sweet strong voice that attracts seasoned Latin-music fans as well as first-time listeners. Born 1976 in Cuba, Alexander studied under Director Lineres of the Cuba National Opera and became a singer in the National Polyphonic Chorus directed by Professor Carmen Collado from the Cuban National Art University. He has been performing professionally from the age of 21 and his career has taken him throughout Europe and later Asia where his popularity continues to grow.

##Yumi Nogami
Singer and voice trainer Yumi Nogami explores myriad vocal varieties from opera to enka. She has enjoyed success both in Japan and abroad, making several appearances on stage with various collaborators as well as on TV.

Performed with Strange Kinoko Dance Company from its beginning in 1990 until 2009. Appearances in “00:00:00” music video for kuchiroro, etc.

##Nobuyuki Hanabusa
Designer, illustrator, animator, video artist. Nobuyuki Hanabusa’s commercial films, animations and multifaceted artwork have been featured nationwide as well as in America and Europe. Recently, his collaborative unit “Kagemu” is enjoying worldwide recognition for its unique combination of digital art and live performance.

Since the group’s first breakthrough video went viral on YouTube in 2006, Tokyo-based Art collective Rinpa Eshidan has been creating “motion paintings” and commercial films that have earned the group fierce notoriety in the global art scene. With over 80 million collective hits worldwide, Rinpa’s signature style is recognized and emulated the world over.

##Stephen Redmond (Live Art)
Stephen Redmond is an artist from the UK, here in Japan on a working holiday, trying to make his mark on Tokyo before he gets kicked out! Recently he’s painted large murals in Harajuku and Shibuya, and performed live painting at Design Festa Vol.34 in Odaiba. Message from Stephen; “Someone give me a job!!”

##Jay Horinouchi
Born and raised in the Bay Area, California, Jay spent a couple years studying art in Napa County, then moved down to Southern California and graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena in 2006. He then worked as a professional artist and designer in Los Angeles for a few years before moving overseas to Tokyo in the spring of 2010. Duality is a theme that Jay constantly explores with his art. Being a bilingual Japanese American, there is a duality in thoughts, words and translation. He also receives a lot of his artistic inspiration from the Japanese culture itself, and how that differs from his American life. His art is a mix of abstract watercolor and hyper detailed robot technology, constantly questioning the balance between man vs nature, old vs new.

##Maiko Miyagawa
Photographer Maiko Miyagawa started taking photos as a high-school student and would later go on to study photography at the Nihon Univerity College of Art. Upon graduation she worked as an assistant for renowned photographer Hidemi Seto and began her solo career in 2003. Today she takes photos of live events including theater, dance and music for magazines, printed advertisements, album covers et al.

##DJ Ace-K
Born in northern Japan, DJ Ace-K currently lives in tokyo with his wife. He started DJing techno 10 years ago but has recemntly turned his focus to Afro Funk. He organizes “interpassional,”a regular DJ party at Ebisu’s Enjoy House as well as “Dominion,” a techno and jamband party.

##D.H. Rosen (TokyoDex)
Tokyo-based visual artist D.H. Rosen loves to play with analog and digital media. His live sets are a combination of prepared digital imagery and spontaneous collage.

This&That Cafe is a free event open to the public in which artists from all genres and backgrounds donate their time and talents in the spirt of sharing. It is a place where music and visual arts meld in unexpected collaborations. A forum for artists from afar to meet with local luminaries amidst the dense and eclectic pool of talent in Tokyo. A venue to gather, exchange ideas, share artistic inclinations and wax poetic in a causal community of old friends and new acquaintances. Come early to get a seat and take advantage of the fetching fare on the SuperDeluxe menu, or just pop in for a drink on your way home from work. All are welcome.
