Following the success of Tokyo's first Nonclassical event in April 2015, the London-based record label and event series challenging the way we view contemporary classical music again joins forces with SuperDeluxe, this time with an event focusing on two distinct approaches to Reconstruction. Electronics… On stage Philippe chooses to process the original 11 “pulses” live, doubling/extending wavelengths and superimposing each into another… Playing with their harmonic analysis and spectral resynthesis, splitting soundwave into its component frequencies and phases, manipulating those and then mashing them all back together again within a different composition. A tapestry of sound running several different sources altogether to create a deep and hypnotic sound assemblage... 21:45 Nonclassical DJs Artist Information: Philippe Petit  Philippe Petit is interested in soundtracks; even if he creates original music he'd rather be introduced as a "musical travel agent" than a composer. Since the early 2000s he has been performing the world, playing festivals all over Europe, Canada, USA, Mexico, Australia & Asia... Feeling lucky to release on several international labels. Not musically trained/educated Petit lies outside the Classical genre but his scores incorporate traditional classical components in a predominantly unconventional manner which recently allowed to being asked by Iancu Dumitrescu & Ana Maria Avram to join forces as a soloist in their Hyperion Ensemble and being invited by Jean-Paul Dessy (Musiques Nouvelles ensemble) and Raoul Lay (Ensemble Télémaque) to become in charge of electronics/turntables in their ambitious E.C.O. (European Chamber Orchestra) formation comprising of 33 soloists. Fortunate enough to work with what people call a dream-team of collaborators: joining Lydia Lunch, Cindytalk, Audrey Chen, Mia Zabelka, Stephen O'Malley, Faust, and more onstage and-or in studio. [www.philippepetit.info](http://www.philippepetit.info/) Jun'ichi Okuyama  Born in Tokyo in 1947, Jun’ichi Okuyama is one of Japan’s seminal experimental filmmakers. He made his first film in 1964 as a high school student, and became fully involved with filmmaking after entering Tamagawa University’s Department of Literature. He has since remained constantly active, creating over 70 highly original experimental works over the last 47 years. Okuyama was recognized internationally early on, with his first screening outside of Japan (the radical 1971 ‘disposable film’ entitled No Perforations) being awarded a Silver Hugo at the Chicago International Film Festival. His distinctively playful approach to the medium of film is widely admired and his most famous works are included in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art (New York), The Yokohama Museum of Art Anthology Film Archives and many top universities worldwide. He has been involved in large-scale exhibitions at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography and has held both solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad.
